The last time I was in Pacino’s was at a Christmas Bash a few years ago and I do remember having a great evening, but very little else. So when we saw the Pacino’s anniversary advert in the Handbook we thought it was time for another visit, at lunchtime on this occasion. There is safe parking outside the restaurant on the main Washway Road.
It was one of those humid days we having been having between the showers so we noticed the benefit of the air conditioning immediately. We were welcomed at the door and offered a choice of tables. When were comfortably seated we ordered a bottle of Frascati and a jug of iced water, which promptly arrived.
We enquired about fresh fish and were told of a selection that had just been freshly delivered. We chose scallops and lemon sole and asked could we share them between us.
For a starter we had bruschetta, which was lovely and served with excellent extra virgin oil.
The fish arrived and the helpful staff had already divided it on to two plates for us, accompanied by a large dish of steaming, fresh vegetables. This proved to be a very good choice, as fresh as promised and delicately cooked in a classic Italian style to preserve the excellent flavours.
We still had room for dessert so chose an Italian favourite, Tiramisu and a piece of light chocolate gateau with cream. Both were simply delicious.
We finished with two cappuccino coffees.
The restaurant was half full when we left and there was a nice, friendly atmosphere about the place.
This was a very good meal throughout, but it is the fresh fish that was exceptional. Surprisingly, our bill was just £50, so excellent value as well.
There are is special 25th anniversary lunchtime and early dining offer running which offers even better value with 2 courses for £6.95 and 3 courses for £9.95.
Will we return?
Yes, we really enjoyed this lunchtime visit.
Our Verdict
